In March 2020, Cormac was selected to take part in a multi-national, multi-medium online artistic residency, as a response to Covid-19 pandemic. Culminating in the experimental art-film 'Excelsior', the film will be released in March 2022, two years after the initial call-out for artists. Cormac worked with 3 other artists; one filmmaker, one animator, and one performance and architect over the course of a number of months. Taking multiple data sets related to Covid-19, Cormac sonified these data sets, then manipulated and edited them in various ways to create a powerful and evocative abstract sound-as-art piece.
